When I was new to anime I watched Naruto. Made it about 150 eps before everything felt like it was repeating itself, and that was the last “endless” anime I ever watched.
Still maintain that an anime over about 100 eps can’t be good–maybe ok, maybe amusing enough that you’ll watch it, but not good good. There’s simply no way to sustain a decent story for that long.
I did watch most of shippuden, too, but it was when it was airing and I never did finish. I never thought it would finish, and when both Naruto and Bleach finished, it was like somebody died, like it was the long awaited end of an era, for each, and I think when one piece eventually ends, it’ll be even moreso, which is wild to think about.

IIRC eps 120-220 are straight up 100 eps of filler and every fan will tell you to skip those.
Sorry for your shitty experience, hope you can give Shippuden’s canon a chance sometime

Two and a half years, actually. They nearly real timed the time skip. Even then they couldn’t get through the next arc without more filler.

Contiguous. That’s why they added “Shippuden” to the name post time skip. To try to bring back the people that dropped it during the filler.

I think I got to the low hundred mark on naruto. Then someone told me everything after the

death of the old dude and kidnapping of super serious emo kid
wasn’t worth watching, because the naruto shipuden basically picked up there anyway. I suppose I’ll get around to shipuden someday and find out.
