You know what would actually be sad? If you got your son a fucking super expensive gift for his wedding and he barely reacted. It’s entirely normal to give gifts at a wedding. That’s literally what a registery is for! In fact the entire POINT of a wedding for most of history was to have a ceremony where the two young people would come together and both of their families would shower them in gifts to help them start their life together.
