This blew up pretty fast and hard. MKBHD released a wallpaper app that asks for a ton of data and only allows you to download 1080p wallpapers unless you pay $50.
- If your ads provider says it follows your customers you either: - Add that to your privacy policy and App Store privacy notice
- or remove the ads provider
 - You can’t just say “naa they might say they do, but we won’t so it’s all good right? Trust me bro” - They did option 1. The big app stores require that disclosure these days. - Problem is, people were surprised that a stupid wallpaper app from a know person / brand had ads and ad tracking like scam mobile game. - Brownlee says these data disclosures are “likely too broad” and that “we’d never actually actually ask for your location, internet history, etc.” - Yes indeed then they received complaints about said disclosure and are attempting to make it out to be a mistake.

- technology - it’s drama about some media clown’s wallpaper app
- Releasing something isn’t “building in public”. Thats spin.
