I’ve heard many times that IRC can be incredibly useful for piracy, but I’ve never tried using it. Can someone recommend some IRC servers that I could join? I’m especially interested in joining servers that distribute TV shows.

there’s not too many around theses days but the ones around work well. You can also check my post history for a writeup i did on IRC piracy.
How do you connect to one of those? I tried with the second option listen in the networks (abjects) but I get Connection failed (self-signed certificate.? (18))
You tried with what program?
With hexchat. I added the first server in the list and it worked fine
