    Wait, you had a doctor?

    Apparently I haven’t had one in over 20 years…

Where do you find doctor (equipment) anyways?

        Wait, you had insurance?

Mine was cancelled, in the middle of a major dental procedure, the day I turned 18…

How the fuck you get dental/health insurance after 18?

I’m now 43, almost 44 years old, and still have no fucking clue how or why my insurance was just fucking cancelled, mid-procedure no less…

        🤷

So they could avoid paying, obviously. I just had a crown that got no reimbursement, because of a preventative they put over the cavity about 1.5 months before the crown. Apparently the insurance will refuse to cover the crown within two months of the preventative. Thankfully the dentist office called the insurance and told them the preventative billing was in error, so I just got the check for the crown coverage.

Healthcare needs to become a public service.

I’m around the same age. It used to be, in the US at least, you could be on your parents insurance until 18. Then you buy it yourself or get a job that has it. I think there was some exception for college kids, but I was way too oblivious around that time to remember.

i was kicked off it just before the ACA was signed, about a year later i started developing swelling for a year which suddenly became severe tooth pain nuearlgia, turns out part of my tooth had decayed away and need an RC proecudre asap. i was able to get back under parents insurance, by then i already lost 2 years of potential healthcare and had less 2 years left before being kicked off again.
